Keeping yourself motivated to keep going is a lifelong process. No matter how much you love your job or enjoy running your own business, there are still going to be days when you don’t feel like working. Maybe you’re going through some personal issues or maybe you’re a little under the weather.
At times like this, it can really help you to get some work done. However, it may feel difficult to get started because you may be lacking enthusiasm. Here are some tips to help you keep going:
Take Breaks
This is something we should all generally do while working. As a general rule, you should take 15 minutes off for every 45 minutes you spend working. But most of us start ignoring this rule after a while because we feel like we’re on a roll and we don’t want to stop.
Still, taking regular breaks in-between tasks and just reading a few pages of a book or watching a funny video online can help you to keep going in the long run. Just remember that what you do during your breaks shouldn’t feel like work. For example, if you’re taking a break to lift a few weights, it might be really good for you but it’s not really fun, is it?
Beautify
You may not realize it but if you take the time to dress up and look nice before you go to work, that’s going to keep you motivated and energized all day long. You don’t need to look like you’re walking the red carpet at the Oscars but as long as you feel like you look good, that will help you.
Plus, you could also make an effort to beautify your surroundings. Even if you only have a small cubicle at work, you can personalize it with photos, postcards, art prints, plants, a vase with flowers, a few books you like (maybe business-related ones) and anything else that might make you feel at home.
